Bay Area Interfaith Wedding Officiant | Inclusive Ceremonies

Congratulations on your engagement!

Your wedding ceremony is the heart of your wedding day.

It is the moment where your love is witnessed, your commitments are spoken, and your community gathers to bless the life you are creating together.

You may be coming from two different faith traditions. You may be spiritual but not religious. You may come from different cultures, or from families with different relationships to ritual, religion, or ceremony itself.

Whatever your story, your ceremony deserves to reflect the fullness of who you are.

As an interfaith wedding officiant serving the San Francisco Bay Area, I work with couples of many faiths, many traditions, and no faith at all — creating ceremonies that are inclusive, meaningful, and deeply personal.

A Ceremony As Unique as Your Love

I seek to support you in creating a ceremony reflective of the love you share and the life you are building together.

Together, we craft a ceremony that may include:

  • Interfaith, spiritual but not religious, and/or multi-tradition elements
  • Cultural or ancestral rituals
  • Spiritual or secular readings
  • Family blessings and traditions
  • Personalized vows
  • LGBTQ+ affirming language and structure
  • Elements of relationships that are important to you – blood family, chosen family, beloved friends and/or poly relationships

Each ceremony is written in close collaboration with you — grounded in your story, your values, and the community that surrounds you.

No two ceremonies are the same.

A Ceremony Process That Deepens Your Connection

Creating your wedding ceremony is not only about the words spoken on your wedding day — it is also about the process of reflecting on your relationship, your values, and the life you are stepping into together.

Through guided conversations and story-gathering, couples often find themselves slowing down, listening more deeply, and reconnecting with what brought them together in the first place.

15+ years officiating weddings, over 12 years of professional interfaith chaplaincy service, and three decades of ritual leadership ground the ceremony process I offer.

This work is about more than crafting a ceremony.

It is about creating space for your partnership to be witnessed, honored, and deepened as you prepare to step into marriage.

Officiant Coaching for Friend-Led Ceremonies

Many couples feel called to have a friend, sibling, or family member officiate their wedding ceremony.

It can be one of the most meaningful ways to center your relationships and bring intimacy into the ceremony space. At the same time, couples often want support ensuring the ceremony still feels grounded, cohesive, and deeply reflective of the commitment being made.

Through officiant coaching, I work with you — and/or your officiant — to shape a ceremony that holds both personal connection and ceremonial depth. We develop structure, language, and ritual flow together so that your loved one feels confident and prepared, and the ceremony itself feels intentional and well-held.

With over a decade of training chaplains in interfaith ritual and care, and more than twenty years teaching ritual leadership, I bring a wealth of education and ceremonial expertise to the coaching process.

Ritual leadership is both a skill and an art. Let’s work together to cultivate both in you.

How we create your wedding ceremony

Creating your wedding ceremony is a collaborative and intentional process.

We begin with a consultation — a space to talk about your relationship, your spiritual or cultural backgrounds, and what you hope the ceremony will feel like for you and for those gathered.

From there, we move into story-gathering and ritual design.

You may share how you met, what has shaped your partnership, the traditions you want honored, and the communities that hold you. Together, we explore readings, rituals, blessings, and ceremony structure that reflect the life you are building.

I then craft a custom-written ceremony, which we refine together until it feels fully aligned — grounded in your voices, your values, and your shared vision.

Alongside ceremony design, I often support couples in navigating the relational dynamics that arise in wedding planning — including stress management, family expectations, and the complexities of blending traditions, family systems and sometimes poly drama.

This pastoral and coaching dimension helps ensure the ceremony process feels grounded, supportive, and steadying — not just logistically organized, but emotionally resourced as well.

By the time your wedding day arrives, your ceremony is not only prepared — it feels familiar, personal, and deeply your own. More importantly, you feel prepared, grounded and ready to navigate the challenges and the celebration of your big day.

An Inclusive and Interfaith Approach

I specialize in ceremonies that honor the many ways people come to partnership, commitment, and sacred promise.

Many of the couples I work with are bringing together different faith traditions, cultural lineages, or spiritual perspectives. Others identify as spiritual but not religious, secular, or somewhere in between.

Your ceremony can hold all of this.

Together, we create a ceremony that may weave interfaith elements, cultural rituals, ancestral practices, secular readings, or spiritual blessings — shaped in a way that feels cohesive and deeply reflective of who you are.

I am committed to ceremonies that are inclusive and affirming of all couples. I bring special expertise to LGBTQ+, poly, and non-hierarchical partnerships, as well as blended families, and offer support in navigating complex family dynamics as part of the ceremony planning process.

The goal is not to dilute difference, but to hold it with integrity — creating a ceremony that feels grounded, authentic, and fully your own.

Begin the Conversation

Choosing your officiant is one of the most meaningful decisions you will make in shaping your wedding ceremony.

It is a decision about who will hold the space as you speak your vows, witness your commitment, and gather your community into the moment.

If you’re looking to create a ceremony that feels grounded, inclusive, and deeply reflective of your partnership, I would be honored to work with you.

I offer a free consultation so we can talk about your vision, your traditions, and what you hope to create together — and so you can get a sense of whether the fit feels right.

I look forward to learning more about your story and the ceremony you are dreaming of.
